North Hempstead Town Hall

The town board decided on Manhasset to be the home of the new town hall on May 23, 1905 because of its central location with respect to the other towns (Port Washington, Great Neck, Roslyn, etc.) and its proximity to the railroad station.  The construction began shortly after in 1906 and the hall was presented to residents in 1907, when it became the permanent seat of the Town of North Hempstead’s government.  Further construction was done in 1928.
