Unitarian Universalist Church

In 1941 four families from Port Washington joined together in order to create a liberal education for their children, and a few years later, three of the families remained and they formed The North Shore Unitarian Society. At first, the meeting space used was a large house at 8 Murray Avenue. In the 1950s, the church started receiving significant donations from Mrs. Caroline Veatch, and through these locations they were able to build a new estate in the village of Plandome. In 1986, the church moved to it’s current location at the Payson estate.
